DUET Student Dies of Dengue in Gazipur
A student of Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Al Amin, passed away due to dengue on Monday night (October 21). He was receiving treatment at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital in Gazipur, where he breathed his last around 2:15 a.m.
According to fellow students, Al Amin’s condition worsened around 10 p.m., and despite medical efforts, he succumbed to the illness shortly after midnight. Al Amin was a student in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) department of DUET. His hometown was in Tangail district.
Several other DUET students have also been hospitalized with dengue at the same medical facility in recent days. Upon hearing of the students' illness, DUET’s newly appointed Vice Chancellor, Dr. Zainal Abedin, visited the hospital to check on their condition. He assured the students and their families of ongoing support and coordinated with the medical staff to ensure adequate treatment.
With the cooperation of the university administration and Al Amin's classmates, arrangements were made to send his body to his family in Tangail. His funeral prayers will be held after Zuhr at his family’s residence in Tangail.
